KIDS ART IN NATURE PROGRAMS

Based on Expressive Ecopsychology Principles

Programs for kids that incorporate creativity with nature immersion open the mind and heart to a deeper relationship and bond with the natural world.

This bond is mutually beneficial to the child and the Earth, setting the stage for responsible environmental attitudes and stewardship later in life.

In these Art in Nature programs, expressive art forms are used as an exploration of our relationship with the Earth and other living beings that we share our environment with. Playfulness, mindfulness, and a sense of responsibility to place and environment are the goals of the program. Many fun nature based art projects, games, and learning activities are explored as a group, with time to practice being with oneself in nature.

Small groups work best in this program. No more than 10 children at a time, and a parent volunteer is usually needed for support.

Watson Woods Riparian Preserve is where most programs take place, although other locations are possible.

ADULT ART IN NATURE PROGRAMS

Based on Expressive Ecopsychology Principles

Adult programs partner expressive arts with nature to open the mind and heart to a deeper relationship and bond with the natural world.

As adults, it is common to feel cut off and alienated from our emotional bond to the natural world. Often there is a calling to reunite with wild nature, because it touches our soul and awakens the spark of our true nature.

In these Adult Art in Nature programs, expressive art forms are used as an exploration of our relationship with the Earth and other living beings that we share our environment with.

Playfulness, mindfulness, and a sense of responsibility to place and environment are the goals of the program.

The use of mandala, personal ritual, and reciprocity principle are incorporated, as well as meditation, movement and journaling.

Small groups of no more than 10 work best.

Watson Woods Riparian Preserve is where most programs take place, although other locations may be arranged.

WOMEN'S WORKSHOPS

women-body.JPG

Based on Expressive Ecopsychology Principles

For women, exploring the archetype of the divine feminine as a creative and healing force has the potential to put us in touch with our intuition, our creativity, and our natural rhythms that mirror the rhythms of the Earth.

Through creative collaboration with the natural world that nourishes our souls, there is the potential to reconnect to the divine feminine force and wisdom within us, enlivening our unique soul selves and bonding us once again with the wilderness around us, our own mother Earth.

In these workshops, expressive art forms are used as an exploration of our unique soul expressions, our relationship with (and place within) the web of life, and our relationship with our Mother Earth. The construction of a shared group altar, as well as mandala making, personal ritual, and reciprocity principle are incorporated.  Meditation, movement, journaling, and inspiring nature-based art activities round out this full and inspiring workshop.

Small groups of no more than 10 work best.

Watson Woods Riparian Preserve is where most workshops take place, although other locations may be arranged. Some workshops can be planned as an overnight or weekend camping events to deeper immerse in the natural environment. A location other than WWRP is needed for this format.

Workshops can be designed to incorporate older teen girls with women, as a beautiful way to transition young women into the realm of womanhood.
